15.01 - are USA trying to pull out of trade deal or just change it?

6.03.2019

Trade deal and its signing it’s still the main topic for the day. Traders and investors all around the world are waiting for the singing and it would have been better if it took place already, as USA are slowly trying to alter the deal after it was already agreed upon.

Yesterday U.S. Treasury Secretary stated that American tariffs towards China are going to stay in place until phase 2 of the trade talks is agreed upon. And the markets and trades were not pleased with the statement. It seems that phase 1 was already agreed upon and that we are going to get a proper deal. And now American are trying to change it right ahead of the talks. Surely, that is not something that we expected.

And this effect is felt across all segments of the market. For example, Asian markets. Yesterday they were growing and recovering, ready to take in new traders, but now, after the statement we can see the clear decline in the segment, which cannot but disappoint us, further motivating us to have no business with the segment.

American stock market is feeling that effect as well. There, only TSLA stock is growing rapidly – the effect of extended stock price growth prediction for the year. Apple and all of the other major stocks are under such pressure that the numbers are slipping.

USD is stepping down a little bit as well. And it is clear – we are not ready to deal with the situation as volatile as this one. We were hoping for some of the tariffs being lifted, but if that is not going to be the case, then we will have to search for our earning possibilities elsewhere, outside of these markets.
